Trials & Tribulations on a Valentine's Day

I promised to celebrate Valentine's Day and so I did!
After croissants with chocolate and strawberry spread for a breakfast in bed, we went out for lunch. I chose the best italian restaurant I have ever eaten in: Merton Abbey's Mamma Rosa. And once again we were not disappointed!

After a quick stop at a nearby friend, we made our way back home. And suddenly, in the middle of nowhere, the car just stopped!! It started with hiccups and I couldn't get it to start. Luckily it all happened right next to a Shell station and I just had enough power to drive it inside and park it. I looked at the dashboard and there was no "out of gasoline" light on, so I guessed it was the battery. It was the logical problem, since it had been giving me problems last month, when it ran out after one week of not using it. Right outside the petrol station was an Halfords, so we run inside and managed to buy a new battery and convinced one of the workers to come replace it (even though it was 6pm and they were closing!). When I tried to start the car, it still wouldn't go!! By this time my mond was running wild with possible problems and contemplating leaving the car there and returning home by bus in the middle of the late afternoon. As a last resort, we decided to push the car towards the nearby gas pumps and fill it with some petrol, just to make sure it wasn't lack of it (the needle was in the red already but the light was not on, so this wouldn't be the problem)... but it was!!! As soon as I finished putting petrol, the car immediately started!!!! THE BLOODY LIGHT THAT TELLS YOU YOU HAVE LOWER PETROL DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE!!! AAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

We then drove back home where I finally relaxed enough to make us a nice steak and chips dinner, with strawberries dipped in melted chocolate and sip some Mateus Rose
